Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

Nine St. Paul elementary schools have been awarded a Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) USDA grant. The grant is administered by Minnesota Department of Education and coordinated by Nutrition Services. The nine participating schools are:

Ames Elementary
Bruce F. Vento Elementary
Cherokee Heights West Side School of Excellence
Jackson Preparatory Magnet
John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary
Longfellow Humanities Magnet
Maxfield Magnet School of Academic Excellence
North End Elementary
Paul & Sheila Wellstone Elementary

The goal of the FFVP is to:

Create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices
Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience
Increase children's fruit and vegetable consumption
Make a difference in children's diets to impact their present and future health
