Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

Nine St. Paul elementary schools have been awarded a Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) USDA grant. The grant is administered by Minnesota Department of Education and coordinated by Nutrition Services. The nine participating schools are:
  • Ames Elementary
  • Bruce F. Vento Elementary
  • Cherokee Heights West Side School of Excellence
  • Jackson Preparatory Magnet
  • John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary
  • Longfellow Humanities Magnet
  • Maxfield Magnet School of Academic Excellence
  • North End Elementary
  • Paul & Sheila Wellstone Elementary
The goal of the FFVP is to:
  • Create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices
  • Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience
  • Increase children's fruit and vegetable consumption
  • Make a difference in children's diets to impact their present and future health
